Any Excuse'll Do

This blog post is full of completely legitimate excuses for not writing about the rest of my holiday. First of all, I was too busy experiencing the holiday. Yes, sometimes that did include reading a year's worth of my sister's Glamour magazine.

And then I came home and I was tired. Tired to the point where I was leaving key words out of sentences, which would be great if you want an "interpret this" blog or a "fill in the blanks" blog, but I'm fairly certain you don't.

Then there are all the photos to sort through. There are so many photos. So many. While sifting through those photos come the time consuming decisions, like: which of these three really similar photos that were taken because I wanted to make sure this memory was captured perfectly should I keep? or can I salvage this really terrible photo of a really great moment? Spend time editing. No, I can't. Just let it go. (Yes, I just started singing the song from Frozen in my head.) This is then followed by the toughest choice of all. Deleting a holiday snap, which is certainly no "snap" decision. You have to imagine your life without that photo. If you believe you can cope then, and only then, can you finally delete that image from your life.

And of course there are all the internet quizzes that demand I complete them. The knowledge that I am Timon and Pumba, Ursula, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, The Mother from How I Met Your Mother, Katniss and not a hipster could change the course of my life.

Other excuses include Buzzfeed, Frozen, Gossip Girl, dance classes, choreographing, parties and sleeping in. Plus I've got that summertime my-vacation-is-over sadness. Writing about it might be too painful.

And then there was that time I wrote this blog post. But you can beLIEve me when I say I'm onto writing the rest of the posts about my adventure now. Maybe I'll just write one final summary post with a random assortment of photos at the end. Or maybe not. The perfectionist that lives inside me is saying "no" to that idea. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what I do.
