"Sister Act is definitely worth a bit of a scroll. Even if you zone out and don't take most of it in." - Annette, Mother of Clary and Alicia
Alicia, Carlos and I entered the Wonder Works lobby and purchased our tickets before we realised Mr Hangry had also come along for the adventure. We headed off to Miller's Alehouse Restaurant to shake off Mr Hangry.
The latter an unexpected heroine after Ms Pork turned spicy.
Following the battle Alicia, Carlos and I returned to Wonder Works.
We were forced to pull those faces of anxcited (v. anxious and excited) anticipation as we were about to re-enter a building that pretends to be an upside down house, but is actually three levels of scientific discovery.
We experienced the very low speed winds of a hurricane. So low that as the trio huddled together Alicia's safety glasses flew off and were never seen again. Thankfully their were insufficient supplies of safety glasses, so Carlos was asked to wear his sunglasses. His Hurricane Shack experience was shrouded in additonal darkness, but he was still able to feel the wind in his tresses.
We played Speed of Light,
tested our grip,
pretended to be space rangers,
and realised our fear of heights on the indoor ropes course.
But the highlight? The place we spent the most time? A screen that displays your temperature. We thought it was pretty cool.
Our hero Miss Dessert helped us celebrate our learning journey ahead of the next day's St Augustine outing.
St Augustine is about 2 hours outside the Disney bubble. Anna joined us on our trolley tour of America's oldest town.
I thought I was done with tertiary institutions, but Henry Flagler had other ideas when he opened his Ponce de Leon hotel that was later transformed into Flagler College. He created such a beautiful building that he knew would tempt me into paying for a tour of it.
Rather than a 3 month stay the squad opted for an hour and of course a few photo ops with old furniture.
If I'd stayed there for 3 months I would've been so bored that criminal activity would've been inevitable and led me to the Oldest Jail.
Hopefully I wouldn't have committed a crime serious enough for the gallows.
or maybe a cell.
I'm sure Anna and I would be fine as cell mates. We've roomed together before. Alicia and Carlos, on the other hand...
but I'm sure flirting with the sheriff never hurt anyone. There's even room on the bench for an old lady to supervise.
Following our release from prison we may have gone shopping at the Oldest Store.
My love of milkshakes would've forced me into purchasing this milkshake maker.
It's only noiseless to deaf people, but that's fine by me.
After all my milkshakes I'm sure the weigh-ins would've resembled the current day ones...
mostly disappointing.
My mum would've been thrilled with the range of washing machines at low, low prices having just bought a present day one current high, high prices.
We were so impressed with the fantastic deals that we called home.
Present day Alicia showed current Clary the Red Pineapple Boutique and it was love at first sight.
I'm not sure how they knew The Velveteen Rabbit was one of the favourite childhood books of the sisters.
I wanted to buy everything and put it in this bag.
The sisters and special guest stars also explored a fort and the gate to the city.
I didn't want to do jazz hands, but apparently it's state law to complete the dance gesture in front of the gate.
The squad had a few good meals that day. We couldn't handle the booth, so we sat on individual seats instead.
By the end of the day we were gone with the wind.
But not before Anna and I realised our boss had tagged along on the trip too.
Then back into the bubble we drove.

This is one of my favorite blogs of yours. What a great weekend that was!
