Southern Hospitality

New Orleans begged me to go and I said, "Sure, why not?". After minimal planning came the uber ride with a slightly fearful moment and a 12 hour Megabus ride.

The uber driver offered beer as an unintentional apology for the near miss accident.

I'm not a lover of the brewed bevie, but Kyra and Anna appreciated the alcoholic token.

When Anna and I booked Inn on St Peter it was only going to be us two old roomies, so we had a one bedder. Then the trio arrived at 7:30am, a lady showed us the room and decided we deserved better. She upgraded us to not only a two bedder... but a suite!

We had the swankiest hotel room the perfect distance from the nightlife. On top of the upgrade we were allowed to set ourselves up for our naps well before our initial 3pm check in time. Plus we didn't get charged for having a third roomie.

Our second taste of southern hospitality came at lunch. We explored the beautiful city during the tourist low season, so we had this artistically adorable eatery to ourselves.

After our delectable lunch, paying the bill and someone's (woops) accidentally-drunk-for-the-first-time-from-just-one-drink state the server was incredibly forthcoming with his touristy tips.

The streets of the Big Easy were teeming with performers. One bopping jazz band compelled us to show off a few dance moves.

Jackson Square was our next stop.

Who doesn't love a good, completely candid laugh by a fountain?

After all that laughter I was dreaming of a nap.

The shops we explored all posted signage prohibiting photography. I guess you'll just have to believe me when I say there were two real life cats lazing on the floor of the first shop we stumbled across.

During my holiday I recorded a few key words so I would remember what to blog. But it's now a week later and in my notes I see "dinner". This note could not have been more vague. Well done past Clary, well done. I'm going to assume Jambalaya was consumed by someone.

The next incident is etched firmly in my memory and will be written fully in the next blog post.
