Around the World in Eighteen Snacks

There's this thing called Food and Wine happening at Epcot. There are extra stalls representing more countries where, for just an arm and a leg, you can taste foreign cuisine and alcohol. I have already been three times, so this post is just the beginning of my food and bev adventures around the World Showcase.

My first glimpse of the food and the wine came when my second adopted American family, Kyra's family, were visiting.

I tasted chicken gyro from Greece.

Found Pizza Planetear, turned temporary food and wine worker, Gaby.

France spoilt my taste buds with a creme brûlée.

Morrocco's baklava was deliciously sticky.

My next food and wine day was with my sister, brother-in-law and my sister's co-workers.

We started with the lamb chop from Australia. The crushed chips were a little foreign to me, an Australian. Other than that, it was scrumptious.

The rest of the group waited in the slow paced line of Mexico. I can only assume the workers were having a siesta, which is not at all indicative of the hard working Mexican.

The inefficient lines of Germany led me to an apple strudel that I'd buy again. And possibly did.

Lemon gelato from Italy was ok. The ravioli much better.

Japan's teriyaki gyoza bun was a little strange, but delectable.

Thank you Belgium for the waffle I shared with Alicia.

The filet mignon from Canada was a stand out. I really enjoyed the mushroom portion of this culinary delight. If you'd told me 20 years ago that I would thoroughly enjoy mushrooms in 2015 I wouldn't have believed you.

I've tried a lot of piña coladas at Disney World. All of them delightful fruity beverages, with the exception of one. Domican Republic gave me the worst piña colada I've ever had.

I didn't even have a photo of the piña colada, but here's one from when we got caught in the rain.

Sure, that drink left a bad taste in my mouth, but not enough to keep me away from Food and Wine. Stay tuned for more public food diaries of the embarrassing amount of food I consumed. And of course stay tuned for more terrible foodie photos from my iPhone 4.
