This is Halloween

On the third Kentucky day plans to adventure in the morning were thwarted by sleep. We woke up late, ate pumpkin butter

and made a sign. It was mostly Paige, but Lexi and I will accept credit also. Then we set off with said sign. It was time to pick up a fourth TSPP squad member from the airport.

Without our special emu hand gesture there's no way she would've found us.

Lexi and I were stoked to be in the same car as Alex. Sure, she lives opposite me back at Patterson Court in Florida, but her and I are the only squad members left in the Disney bubble.

Paige suggested we check out Colonel Sanders' grave, but it wouldn't be right to show up unannounced without at least a drumstick. KFC was not found. Instead, we were lead down Post Office Alley. If there's ever a place in Kentucky you don't want to be at night, I'd say that was it. The narrow street was super sketchy AND there was no fried chicken.

Maybe we would visit the Colonel's grave tomorrow, maybe we wouldn't. Who knows? (Spoiler alert: we visit the grave.)

We may not have found fried chicken, but we did discover maple bourbon chicken wings instead.

Thanks Manny and Merle!

Maybe I just thought they were delicious because I sipped a little of Lexi's bourbon. It was a particularly potent brew.

The world's largest bat was in need of some visitors. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's an animal called Huber who terrorises small communities and overturns vehicles, but is really just a misunderstood creature.

The world's largest bat is, in fact, the Louisville Slugger.

Maybe the slugger was more dangerous than the animal variety.

As we walked the streets it became oddly obvious to Lexi and I that the whip nae song is all about horse abuse.

This guy broke his neck to see some of the infamous TSPP squad down by the Ohio River.

J-Law received a well deserved salute.

Later that night it was time for awkward family photos with our pumpkin babies

before we cut them,

pulled their insides out

and carved them.

Paige and Lexi painted their babies.

The fifth squad member, Taylor arrived during the carving. Finally, the squad was reunited (everyone except Drew, that is).

In memory of the lost tribe member we played the game he introduced to us, Spicy Uno.

Then it was time for a brief glimpse of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" ahead of hitting the hay. Or in my case, an air mattress in Paige's room.
