A Service to Miami

The people working in customer service jobs were rarely a service to Miami. One of my favourite moments was this guy who worked for an unnamed telecommunications company who was basically indicating that my sister and I were not bright because I wouldn't sign up for a $50 a month phone plan for unlimited talk, text and 4 gigs of data. Apparently that was an unbeatable deal; one we would not find anywhere else.

He was right, we didn't - we found one better. $35 a month
for unlimited talk, text and data. This is totally a plug for Cricket, not the sport or the insect, but the telecommunications company. However, I don't recommend going to the Mall of Americas in Miami to sign up. You might accidentally get there when the only worker is on their lunch break while sitting at the kiosk. And rather than indicating that he is on a lunch break, will just look at you like he doesn't understand English while eyeing off a sign that suggests it's time for his lunch. And even though he will not serve you for at least another 35 minutes, he will also not recommend you go anywhere else. It's especially fun if you're about to start a long drive to, let's say, Orlando.

So of course we did go to another Cricket store to sign up. Even Alicia and Carlos think the deal is so good they might change providers. Take that T-Mobile, I mean unnamed telecommunications company.

We did find good service at The Cheesecake Factory though. Yes, that's right, I made it to the Cheesecake Factory and even got to have dinner with my cousin and German resident, Bianca and her boyfriend, Daniel. You'll have to excuse my Hagrid-like hair. My follicles were prematurely excited about going to Harry Potter World in a couple of days.

It was fun to reminisce about the times Alicia, Bianca and I used to visit Bianca's Nan. Among other activities we learnt how to cook and we'd pick
tiny leaves from what we called the "money tree" and basically made it rain.

I was also treated to a Chris' Outrageous Cheesecake. He (or she) sounds like a really fun person.

While in Miami I also fulfilled my other goal of standing on the balcony at Alicia and Carlos' place. I saw some of the other apartment buildings and some like trees and stuff.

I'm now in Orlando and the Universal Studios blog posts will be coming your way very soon. I don't recommend you go to another blog to read about it.
