After I checked into the room we ventured over to the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. My sister and I literally said "Wow!" when we walked in. The resort is stunning. Carlos sarcastically remarked "OMG!" but we know he was being serious. At the restaurant I filled up on bottomless thick shakes that tasted like delicious ice-cream cake. We did the hokey pokey and for some of us who didn't grow up in Australia *cough* Carlos *cough* it was the first time. We were served by the loveliest man named Chris. He first started working for Disney when he was 16 and has been here 33 years. Chris sounded and acted so Disney. If you've been to any Disneyland or world you'll know what I mean by that description and if you don't get it you need to get yourself somewhere Disney pronto.
I'm now lying in my bed at the All Star Music Resort in the Broadway. How did they know it was my dream to be on Broadway? My roomies for the Disney portion of my adventure are Haylee and Jess. Haylee flew from Scotland on a detoured flight due to poor weather conditions. Apart from being tired she is also sick so we quarantined her to her own bed. Jess is a night owl like me so we are both still up on our technology. Our stomachs are also having a bit of a grumbling battle. If only our stomachs would go to sleep like we should.
I will show you the view from my bed. I would get up and take other photos, but unfortunately laziness prevents me.
First we have the fabulous strip of wallpaper that lines the entire room. It's filled with such an intense number of instruments, shapes and colours that a photo really is the only way to describe it.
Next we have the stunning curtain and starry bed runner which feature a beautiful combination of colours. The only functions I can see for the bed runner (other than being aesthetically pleasing of course) are to keep your feet warm or for a really skinny person to stay warm.
Finally we have the silhouette of Mr Donald Duck. But you know a simple silhouette wouldn't be enough. Thank goodness they've included crazy colours, shapes and music notes, otherwise I'd been concerned it didn't fit in.
The room is so retro Disney, but I think it's great. Although I'm not sure you can completely trust my opinion. They could put me in a cardboard box in a Disney World resort and as long as there was at least one hidden Mickey I'd probably still love it.
Now that the clocked has ticked over to my first official Disney park day it's time for some sleep.
