The Adventure Continues...

Today the sister, brother-in-law and I headed out to South Beach again, but this time we ventured onto the sand and into the water. It's hard to believe it's apparently the middle of "winter". I'm certainly not complaining though. They (basically just Australians) say Australia has the best beaches, but South Beach was pretty amazing.

Even the birds were posing for me. There were even umbrellas on the beach for everyone. Ok, so they're not free and you're supposed to rent them, but we didn't quite get around to it. We swapped who stayed with our belongings. When it was my turn as watcher and one of the workers came over to ask, "How many umbrellas did you rent?" and I replied, "Just one." I genuinely thought that perhaps Carlos had rented it. The free shade was lovely.

We then continued onto bigger, but not necessarily better things. Ocean's Ten was our lunch destination of choice. I'm not so sure I would choose it again. The... service... was... really... s l o w. At one point we almost left, but then realised our giant pina colada was being transported over to us. The frozen cocktail was certainly big, but I'm not really fond of the taste of alcohol, so it wasn't better than a drink I got later. I got an alcohol free Miami Vice. Now that really was better! Although the size was a lot smaller.

My sister convinced me the paella (we pronounced it pie-yaya! with a fist pump) was like really, really good. (I can't remember which accent she said it in. She's picked up so many and most sentences offer a combination of them all.) Needless to say the paella for one was big, but not better than say a slider (a small burger).

I think Ocean's Ten has taught us all a valuable lesson: bigger is not always better.

I now sit here in my fancy (by fancy I mean sparkles on the shoulders, sequins on the culo and totally mismatched, but totally Miami) pyjamas getting myself ready for my grand adventure to continue. I would say I'm preparing by watching a Disney movie, but to be honest Oz the Great and Powerful hasn't exactly captured my attention. I guess everyone is entitled to one Disney disappointment in their life. I'm getting ready for the biggest dose of Disney delights I've ever experienced. I can't wait to be part of Disney's World!
