Cruising Through Life

Anna and I were on a boat and it took us to The Bahamas. On the first day we docked in Freeport. We were greeted by this guy (or girl).

We were informed it was supposed to be a giant version of a towel elephant. This made sense when this little guy (or girl) appeared on my bed one afternoon.

Room service on the boat was so efficient our beds were made after our naps. But I digress. Back to The Bahamas.

We hadn't book any excursions or Googled anything, so we asked a local where we should go. She recommended Port Lucaya.

First on the agenda was the beach. It was a little bit of a stroll from where the minivan dropped us off.

Before the water came a little bar and a piña colada to share.

If you like piña coladas I definitely recommend a trip to the Bahamas.

We trekked across rocks before we reached a lovely spot on the sand.

The sand, the Bahama breeze and our beverage were very relaxing.

We jumped into the water. Ok, Anna jumped in.

I was a little more cautious.

The beach wasn't crowded, just a few people relaxing on the sand, some in the water and some Bahamian guys seeing if we wanted to do water sports.

"Water sports?"

"Water sports?"

One guy even waded through the water to ask. We declined, but he stayed to chat and mentioned something about a hot body.

Following our fun in the sun, we did a spot of shopping.

Then we entered Senior Frogs.

Luckily Anna was tall enough to enter the establishment.

I bought a strawberry daiquiri for Anna and I to share. It was not the first time that vacation I was asked if I wanted alcohol in my beverage.

Then it was time to end day one in The Bahamas and hit up the Carnival Sensation nap and night life. If you liked reading about day one, then you might like my next blog post about day two. If you didn't like reading about day one, I hope you didn't read all the way to the end hoping it would get better.
