Dining Disney Style

Where can you eat dinner with a prince, a princess and her horrible step family and receive exceptional service? Disney World, of course.

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian offered Kyra and I a royal dinner banquet.

We weren't in the best mood before we arrived. Hard to believe in the happiest place on earth, I know. Prince Charming lifted our spirits with manners and I guess you could say, his charm. How could I deny his request to take a portrait?

Lady Tremaine gave a little less polite and a lot more sass.

Then came the first step sister with her obviously natural beauty. Make-up free and #flawless. There's no doubt Annastasia woke up like this.

Our regal feast wouldn't be complete without a visit from Cindy herself.

Drizella was actually perfect. Providing us with just the right amount of banter to complement the delicious fare.

We chatted about her feline friend, Lucifer and Kyra showed photos of hers, JJ. She loves cheese and her favourite Australian animal is the platypus.

We farewelled the fancy feast with a few photos in the restaurant.

Just one week and one super long bus ride later Kyra and I were dining Disney style again. This time it was the Turf Club Bar and Grill at the Saratoga Springs Resort.

Here we received exceptional service from the lovely Sharon.

Her recommendation to try the lamb did not disappoint.

Kyra even tried the delectable meat for the first time. That's right, she'd never eaten lamb before. Something about a girl called Mary and her little lamb. For the record, Kyra enjoyed the tasty morsel, requesting we go somewhere else to sample more lamb.

I can't recall what the dessert was called. All you need to know is that it too was recommended by Sharon and was quite simply divine.

The spongy warmth and oozing sauce really made me forget I'm supposed to be on a diet to lose that American weight. I'm convinced selective diet amnesia is acceptable while on vacation, which also includes a year long working vacation.
