I love the nightlife on solid ground. Turns out I also mostly love the nightlife while rockin round the ocean.
Each night was an excuse for a new outfit. Here are Anna and I on formal night.
Some nights were an excuse for something a little different, like Miami Vices.
On our first night we found an excuse to distract ourselves with food. The strange sensation from the rocking of the Carnival Sensation came in waves. Sitting by a revolving door with a kid chucking up the contents of his dinner on the other side of us in the dining room was not exactly helpful.
Dinner was the perfect distraction.
This night was when our meals peaked. We did not appreciate the key lime pie enough. It never reappeared on the menu, but we thought of it fondly each night.
During the cruise Anna and I didn't go overboard with our meals, but even if we did, calories consumed over international waters don't count.
Each night in the dining room the waiters staged a little show, like a conga line in crazy props.
Let's not talk about the last night when they performed a little number about leaving and I cried.
I wasn't quite ready to disembark the ship, but mostly it's sad to be farewelling all my friends of Disney in just a few weeks.
We witnessed the Welcome Aboard show
and laughed at comedian Percy Crews II.
DJ Devine didn't exactly perform any miracles,
but his carefully selected tunes kept Anna and I dancing on the deck and in the ship's club, Kaleidoscope.
Sometimes we were the only ones dancing, except that time we walked past and the 6 to 11 year olds were screaming "turn down for what" and exerting more energy than many of the over 18s on the ship.
The club was 18+ so I took it as a compliment when security asked for my ID and was shocked by my 1989 year of birth. Don't worry, the hairdresser after I was back in Orlando deflated my ego by informing me she found a grey strand.
Anna and I discovered our favourite ship entertainment the first night.
We sat in our favourite spot
and sometimes danced along
to their wide variety of covers with super awesome arrangements almost every night because:
(a) They are such a ridiculously talented band that they are called Category 6 because they blow people away.
(b) Drummer Josh asked me to dance to Thinking Out Loud and then chatted with us every night.
(c) The male singer (don't know his name) spoke to us and then casually sat at our table to sing.
(d) The male vocalist (still don't know his name) went so hard with his dance moves in front of us that he split not only his legs, but also his pants.
or
(e) All of the above.
Everyone knows when you see "all of the above" as a multiple choice option that it's the correct answer. We would've listened to Category 6 every night, but apparently they needed a night off from work. Anna and I were disappointed their work schedule didn't coincide with our cruise schedule, but realised that's called being selfish and hit up the deck party instead.
No matter where we found ourselves on the Carnival Sensation Anna and I lived up to the ship's vision of fun.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot Anna and I weren't just at sea, we also travelled to The Bahamas. Maybe I'll write a post or two about that, so stay tuned.
