Oh Christmas Eve, Oh Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve I dropped into Magic Kingdom... for a very brief thirteen hours. But not before getting into the festive spirit.

Once we arrived, Kyra and I had an awkward family photo shoot in front of the Christmas tree.

Once our glamour shots were done the character attendant for the cat Marie asked us why we weren't lining up for a photo with her. I simply pointed out the length of the line and thought that would be the end of it.

Then we were invited to walk with the cat, herself. Over to a backstage exit.

Of course someone captured obligatory castle photos.

And then a photo looking to our futures beyond Disney.

A few friends paraded around in their best accessories...

their Christmas cheer...

and their festive spirit.

One of our bosses, Woody, was a bit of a flirt. Throwing the old finger guns at Kyra and gesturing for her to blow him a kiss.

We hadn't planned to, but we ate lunch at a full service restaurant - the newly established Skipper Canteen.

I had a delicious Christmas Eve lunch, consisting of prawns.

It wouldn't be Christmas without some prawns.

The waiter offered us cockroaches, but I declined, saying, I'll "skip" that.

The dessert was one of Disney's finest. Light, fluffy, coconutty, pinappley goodness.

After dropping $40 on lunch it was time for Daisy to tell us our fortunes.

She mentioned something about a mouse. Then we happened to run into Minnie Mouse just a few metres away.

Kyra was then farewelled while walking through the snow

before saying bonjour to my roommate Samantha in Fantasyland.

I had some time to spare before another Pizza Planetear, Sarah, was to join the magical festivities, which you can read about in the next blog post.
